Ознакомившийся с новейшими планами Intel сайт HKE PC даёт отрицательный ответ на этот вопрос. Следующая модель двухъядерного Celeron по имени E1400 (2.0 ГГц) выйдет только во втором квартале текущего года, она заменит собой процессор Celeron E1200 (1.6 ГГц), и будет стоить всё те же $53. Обратите внимание, что частота прирастёт сразу на 400 МГц, а цена останется неизменной — у любителей "оптимального апгрейда" появляется новый повод запастись терпением.

Процессоры Phenom 9550 (2.2 ГГц) и Phenom 9650 (2.3 ГГц) на степпинге B3 тоже появятся во втором квартале. Компания Sapphire готовит к анонсу две версии Radeon HD 3850 с 1 Гб памяти, различающиеся типом поддерживаемой памяти: DDR-2 или GDDR-3. Легко догадаться, что первая будет работать на достаточно низких частотах, поэтому любителям больших объёмов следует тщательно изучать характеристики видеокарты перед покупкой. Плюсом версии Radeon HD 3850 с 1 Гб памяти типа DDR-2 станет её относительная ценовая доступность — видеокарта будет лишь слегка дороже эталонной версии с 512 Мб памяти.

особенностям видеокарты следует отнести наличие 0.8 нс микросхем памяти типа GDDR-3. Теоретически, они могут разгоняться до 2500 МГц DDR, а ведь подобные частоты более характерны памяти типа GDDR-4. Впрочем, в качестве номинальных значений Asus выбирает более скромные частоты — 730/1900 МГц. Даже такой разгон относительно эталонной версии Radeon HD 3850 (668/1656 МГц) позволяет Asus утверждать, что новинка на 12% быстрее. Говорить о разгонном потенциале памяти можно будет только по результатам практических испытаний — здесь многое зависит от дизайна печатной платы, таймингов и напряжения питания.
